Mindfulness Tools for Health and Wellness

This 8-week program can help you learn: Mind/Body practices to reduce stress and anxiety Ongoing strategies to face difficult life situations Practices that increase well being The program includes guided practices in mindfulness meditation, a body scan, and gentle stretching/yoga. The group engages in group discussion about the practices and learns about responding rather than reacting to stress. Guided CDs are used at home to support skills learned in class.  The cost is for the series and includes the CDs. Integrative Health Week:  MIndfulness Tools for Cancer Patients and Supporters: A Panel Discussion

Come hear from three participants of the Mindfulness Tools for Health and Wellness program that is offered to cancer patients and supporters at the Vermont Cancer Center through a Victoria Buffum Endowed grant.  Panelists will tell their experience of the program and how they have incorporated mindfulness into their healing journeys.  Roz Grossman MA will give an overview of the program, which is based on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program started by Jon Kabat-Zinn PhD over thirty years ago and now taught in many health care settings around the world.
